Say it loud, we're Black and we're proud!

WEG is an alliance of Harlem-based Black entrepreneurs convened by the Harlem Business Alliance (HBA) in the summer of 2018 in an effort to level the playing field for Black business owners in NYC.

 

For Black entrepreneurs, there is a financial cost of discrimination that often prevents Black businesses from thriving. This truth is reflected in the paucity of NYC agency contracts awarded to Black businesses and is exacerbated by the lack of access to capital.

 

Black-owned businesses deprived of contracts, capital and parity in the marketplace are dying on the vine.

 

WEG seeks to buck the trend by advocating for Black-owned businesses and identifying contract opportunities and Black entrepreneurs prepared to accept the opportunity.
